Life lately …
It’s May and it finally feels like spring has sprung! I’m loving my early morning runs in the sunshine. I’ve ditched my coat and I’m living in these yellow jeans from Monki.
Whether I’m going away for one night or one week, I have a travel checklist at the back of my notebook that I always use. Life’s busy and often I don’t have a lot of time to pack, so having this list already written out, makes it mega easy. I’m currently sitting on the Eurostar train on my way home from Paris. I was only there for one night and we had a busy schedule but of course I still had to get out for a run this morning. Space saving tips for your fit kit – Even if I’m only going for one or two days, I always pack my trainers. I roll up a sports bra and put it into one of my trainers, I then roll up my shorts and put them in the other shoe. I also take a thin cotton tote bag so that if my running shoes get dirty or wet, I can put them in the bag before they go back into my suitcase. Another top tip for …
… I left that event feeling both inspired and empowered and also proud to be a woman. 2018 is an incredible time to be a woman. We have a voice and the world is listening. Let’s make everyday, International women’s day!
You know that feeling, when you’ve been on an air conditioned plane for eleven hours, and your face feel like a dried fruit! If you’ve landed somewhere hot, you’ll need to use sun cream and then you get a breakout, just in time for your first holiday selfie! I’m thirty years old, surly I’ve had my lifetime number of spots already! After a lot of trial and error, I’ve got my routine down…
Earlier this month I visited Cape Town for the first time. To be totally honest, I didn’t know very much about South Africa and it wasn’t somewhere that I’d ever considered adding to my travel wish list. A few days before Christmas, I got the confirmation of the shoot dates and location from the adidas running team. We were going to be in Cape Town for five days to film a spring summer running campaign. Excitement overload! 🙂 I mentioned the trip to a few a people and I received two different reactions. Some of the first things I heard were, ‘Oh, be careful, it’s not a safe place to visit!’, the next thing I heard was ‘Oh my gosh, it’s incredible! You will absolutely love it! A lot of places have a reputation of being unsafe for tourists, especially for women, and it can be off putting for sure. As I was traveling with a group I felt assured that it would be fine. Cape Town is a very popular travel destination and like …
Running is a constant challenge. Running answers my questions. Running can never be conquered. Running will change your life.
Last week I was invited to ‘Bootcamp and Brunch’ at The Wellesley Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel, London, with personal trainer Matt Roberts. What a fab way to start the week! I arrived on Sunday evening ahead of the early morning bootcamp. The hotel is absolutely stunning, I stayed in the first floor suite which overlooks London’s Hyde Park. SO nice! Now that is what I call, a room with a view! Morning Miles … 7am. We met Matt in the hotel lounge and we had a brief chat to share our current health and fitness goals. Matt explained the structure of the workout as well as discussing the different training methods that he uses with his clients and at his fitness retreats. Firstly, we laced up and set off to the park for a 5K run. Running before breakfast was a little bit different to what I’m used to. Especially as I training for the marathon earlier this year. Matt encourages fasted cardio in the morning as a tool to aid weight loss. (Personally, my …
There’s been so much going on over the last few weeks so here’s an update on what I’ve been up to lately … I flew to Stockholm to celebrate International Women’s Day. I went to visit my friend Hannah and to lead a fitness class in her brand new studio! Hannah is a fellow adidas ambassador and we first me last September in Copenhagen. I had previously followed Hannah on Instagram (obvs). Her account, @fashionablefit is a mixture of stylish three striped workout gear, empowering messages and Hannah looking so damn sexy & strong! I was joined by my fit pals Hayley and AJ, two ladies that totally inspire me, both for different reasons. The whole trip left me feeling like a total girl boss! I still can’t believe that my life now involves casually hopping on a plane for a thirty six hour trip to Europe. All because of this blog and social media. I’ll write a separate post about my thoughts on this maybe. I ran the North London Half Marathon! I was …
First stop on my RUN beautiful series is Copenhagen. I was lucky enough to be invited to join the adidas runners for a 12k run in the beautiful Scandinavian city. I’ve never been to Copenhagen before, but after just a few hour wondering around the city, I knew I was going to love it. We arrived on Friday afternoon, the airport is a short train journey away from the main city. Absolutely everyone cycles in Copenhagen and there is a Joe & The Juice on every corner. We spent the evening exploring the city and I couldn’t resist lacing up for a short run before dinner. If you fancy a weekend get away and you’re looking for a beautiful city to run, here’s why you should visit Copenhagen. . . How to get there – You can get a return flight from London for less than £100 and the flight is only an hour. Perfect if you’re only visiting for a few days or if you’re traveling with kids.
