Bootcamp and Breakfast

Last week I was invited to ‘Bootcamp and Brunch’ at The Wellesley Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel, London, with personal trainer Matt Roberts. What a fab way to start the week! I arrived on Sunday evening ahead of the early morning bootcamp. The hotel is absolutely stunning, I stayed in the first floor suite which overlooks London’s Hyde Park. SO nice! Now that is what I call, a room with a view! Morning Miles … 7am. We met Matt in the hotel lounge and we had a brief chat to share our current health and fitness goals. Matt explained the structure of the workout as well as discussing the different training methods that he uses with his clients and at his fitness retreats. Firstly, we laced up and set off to the park for a 5K run. Running before breakfast was a little bit different to what I’m used to. Especially as I training for the marathon earlier this year. Matt encourages fasted cardio in the morning as a tool to aid weight loss. (Personally, my …

The latest …

There’s been so much going on over the last few weeks so here’s an update on what I’ve been up to lately … I flew to Stockholm to celebrate International Women’s Day. I went to visit my friend Hannah and to lead a fitness class in her brand new studio! Hannah is a fellow adidas ambassador and we first me last September in Copenhagen. I had previously followed Hannah on Instagram (obvs). Her account, @fashionablefit is a mixture of stylish three striped workout gear, empowering messages and Hannah looking so damn sexy & strong! I was joined by my fit pals Hayley and AJ, two ladies that totally inspire me, both for different reasons. The whole trip left me feeling like a total girl boss! I still can’t believe that my life now involves casually hopping on a plane for a thirty six hour trip to Europe. All because of this blog and social media. I’ll write a separate post about my thoughts on this maybe. I ran the North London Half Marathon! I was …

Back To Basics

As a lover of fashion and all things stylish, I often find myself standing in my bedroom, staring at my wardrobe feeling unimpressed and frustrated. First world problems, I know. Like so many women, I actually have far too many clothes, shoes, coats and bags to even fit into a wardrobe! I have different cloths for different occasions/seasons/moods etc, an eclectic mix of denim shirts, tailored trousers, pleated skirts, logo jumpers and way to many navy and striped t-shirts. Not to mention those items that I never wear but still love too much to throw out. It’s a mess! Every so often I sort through the rails and I donate any unwanted clothes to the local clothes bank or charity shop. I can be pretty ruthless once I get going but I still end up in the same situation a few months later, and yet ‘I have nothing to wear!’ Okay so it’s Saturday morning, it’s an hour before we are supposed to be leaving the house, I’m standing in our bedroom semi nude with a …

#LFW 17

So, I haven’t posted an outfit post in absolutely ages!! Lately my life has been taken over by running and run chat. [Yeah, training for a marathon will do that.] So, I was mega happy to receive an invitation to this years Charli Cohen show at London Fashion Week. It was the perfect excuse to hang out with my girl friends, go to some fun blogger events and of course pap that #ootd . . .  Photos by @redagencylondon FYI I definitely didn’t need to wear these sunnies as it’s February. Come on spring, we’re all ready for you! Initially, I thought I may have gone a little OTT with the big coat, big hair + sunglasses combo, but then I thought hey it’s LFW! Too much? Never.Outfit. Jamie Oliver #TellTheresa

This morning I was invited to attend a talk with Jamie Oliver to discuss child hood obesity and the governments new ‘Plan for Action’. The panel was presented by channel 4’s Jackie Long. Jamie was also joined by Dr Dawn Harper, Olympic gold medalist, James Cracknell and Justine Roberts, CEO & Founder of Mumsnet. Jamie has been campaigning for the government to do more to tackle this national health problem. He wants to ensure that parents are well informed about nutrition, as well as suggesting that the government should bring in laws for food suppliers and manufactures, that will help us all to make healthier food choices. Earlier this year the government released their strategy for ‘Childhood Obesity : A plan for action‘ which was created to significantly reduce childhood obesity and to implement radical change across the country. However, the strategy has been hugely criticised and described as a ‘diluted version’ of what campaigners had hoped for. Jamie Oliver is featured in tonight Dispatches programme on channel 4, he speaks very passionately about his …

Friendship

Earlier this month I celebrated my 29th birthday. I received lots of birthday cards, messages and well wishes from so many of my wonderful friends. As I get older, (I know 29 isn’t very old but bare with me) I’m learning a lot about myself and how much I value friendship. I’m also learning that not every friendship will last forever and I guess that’s okay. When you’re young, I’m talking about high school age, friendships can be fickle. You’re segregated into groups, the ‘sporty’ ones, the ‘cool’ kids, the ‘geeks’ and  let’s be honest, high school is pretty brutal! As we grow up and attempt adulthood, we leave those labels behind but somehow we inherit new ones. I’m a ‘Mum’, a ‘Personal Trainer’, a ‘blogger’ so of course I have lots of ‘Mum friends, fit mates and also online friends. That might sound weird but, I honestly have genuine friends in my life now that I would never have met if it wasn’t for the internet. I also have some incredible old friends from my …

Everything you need to know about SNAPCHAT

I must start off by warning, like most social media apps, snapchat is mega addictive! If you think you can handle it… here is everything you need to know! Recently, so many people have been asking me why I use snapchat and what all the fuss is about. So I thought I’d write this guide for all users from snapchat newbies to seasoned pros! If you haven’t downloaded the app on to your phone yet then you’re probably thinking, why do I need another one. I’ve already got Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Whatsapp, emails!!! argh! Or maybe you’re thinking it’s an app for fourteen year old to send selfies and rude pics to each other. Think again! Snapchat is fun, casual and majorly under rated. Essentially, snapchat allows you to share photos and videos of your daily life with your mates. Snaps are limited to 10 seconds each and can only be viewed for 24 hours. You can send your snaps to your friends directly or you can create a ‘story’, a kind of timeline …

#InShapeMyShape

Today is the launch of a new Women’s Health magazine campaign, #InShapeMyShape. This months cover star Caroline Flack is inviting you to love your body and embrace your shape. Come on ladies, we all have parts of our body that we complain about but how oftern to you celebrate your body? Probably not often enough. Personally, it’s taken me a long time to be completely happy with my body shape. My body is natural very straight, my hips are narrow and I’ve always had a athletic shape. In fact when I was younger I had a similar silhouette to Mowgli from the Jungle Book 🙂 I’ve always looked enviously at women with hips like Beyonce. Curvy women look so feminine and sexy! As I grew up, I accepted my body shape but I probably never really loved my body until . . . I became pregnant! I know that many women say that they dread pregnancy, as they fear that it will ‘destroy’ their bodies beyond repair. Well, I’ve got good news ladies, your body …

The Artist

Here is a video created by Microsoft to showcase their belief that people of action, creators, innovators, are everyday people like myself and digital artist Roz Hall. As a trainer, I am always looking for new ways to challenge myself and my clients. It’s great to be able to track your own progress and it’s hugely motivating when you achieve your goal. Personally, using tech is changing the way that I train, as I have so much more information to help me to design my training schedule. I really loved working on this project, it was amazing to see Roz sharing his passion for digital art. He drew a portrait of me on the Surace Pro 4. I never saw any of the portrait until yesterday when I watched this video for the first time. It’s incredible to see how other people are using tech to be creative. Technology is adapting to suit our busy lives. The world is constantly creating and sharing new content and new ideas. The Surface makes it really easy to work …
