F.A.Q adidas ultraBOOSTX

For the last four weeks I have been running (A LOT) in the brand new women’s running shoe, the  ultraBOOSTX. Adidas have created a shoe, specifically designed for the female athlete. It is a fusion of two of my favourite running shoes, the ultraBOOST and the pureBOOSTX. One of the things that I love the most about running is that it can not be defined and that makes it accessible to everyone! It doesn’t matter how far you go, or how fast, if you run, then you are a runner. I have been running constantly for almost three years, this year I’m facing my biggest running challenge so far, as I will be taking on the London Marathon in April. It’s really important for me to be running in the best shoes, especially as I am currently clocking about 24 miles each week. In an attempt to remain injury free whilst training, I have been supporting my road running with some treadmill sessions, cycling and resistance training too. I’ve been wearing the ultraBOOSTX for 90% …

Body Confidence Talk at the Hoxton.

Last weekend I hosted a talk at the Hoxton’s Fresh + Fit Fest. If you didn’t manage to grab a ticket, then here’s what you missed… I’ve been working in the fitness industry of almost five years now and during that time I’ve spent hours talking to women about ‘Body Confidence’. Unfortunately, it seems to me that so many women are unhappy with the way they look and that they are constantly trying to change. It’s not surprising really when you consider the conceptualisation of body image and the media’s attitude towards beauty and femininity. We are often only shown one idea of ‘beauty’. It’s tall, slim, sexy, glossy and unrealistically perfect! So, how can we even began to have body confidence, if we don’t tick all of the right boxes? Well, here’s what I have to say about that… Firstly, you are unique! The body that you have is yours and there is no-one else who is exactly like you. There is no ‘one size fits all’. When it comes to training and diet, no …

Beat the January Blues…5 Ways to Get Fit in London

It’s already the second week in January! Apparently the third week of the month (Monday 16th to be specific) is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year. Yikes! That’s when lots of people quit their new resolutions, the weather is grey and cold and everyone realises that they have about £15 to last until payday. Well, I’m an eternal optimist, whatever day it is. So, if you’re looking to boost your mood this month, do some exercise, sweat out that stress and get high on endorphins! Here are a few of my top picks for training in London… Running – There are loads of beautiful places to run in London, it’s the best way to see the city. If you’re looking for a fun crew to join then check out the London Midnight Runners. As the name suggests they are a night running crew. If you’re more of a morning person then check out LDN Bruch Club or Adidas Runners London. HIIT – For a mega tough HIIT workout check out F45. …

New Look Activewear

Okay January, let’s do this! Fitness is in fashion and I’ve teamed up with New Look to showcase their brand new activewear range! New Look’s new sports collection includes both gym essentials and stylish basics for that post work out chill. The block colours are bold and they’re mega easy to mix & match. I filmed a video along side two of my fit gal pals, AJ & Kimmy. We had so much fun at the shoot! AJ is so full of energy, she’s an awesome workout buddy as well as being absolutely hilarious. As for Kimmy, she is SO strong! Don’t be deceived by the blonde hair and cute smile, she’ll whip your butt in the gym. The collection is very affordable so it’s the perfect way to freshen up your fit kit without spending a small fortune. My personal favourites pieces were the run jacket and T-shirt. 2016 … What A Year !

A lot can happen in a year! 2016 has definitely been a memorable one. It’s been a year of highs and lows for me. Before I can think about my hopes and dreams for next year, I thought I’d take a look at the last twelve months. January – I kicked off the year by hosting a fitness bootcamp in a studio near my house. I was joined by 20 women that wanted to get fit and start the year feeling strong! It was so inspiring to see their dedication and I loved leading those daily workouts. (I may be smiling but my butt has never ached so bad!) February – In February I began sharing my fitness / fashion tips in Women’s Health magazine. The fashion world got fit this year, we took gym kit from the treadmill to the catwalk and called it ‘Athleisure’. Meanwhile Jude and I perfected our instagram selfies, I like to think I’m a responsible parent, teaching our son essential life skills!  March – I continued to combine my …

Winter Workout X Stylist Magazine.

Earlier this year I teamed up with Stylist magazine to share my top tips for winter training. It can be hard to motivate yourself when it’s grey and cold outside, here’s how I’m planning to keep on track. Take Time For You – We all have mega busy lives. Don’t let work, kids, and other commitments stop you from training. Going out for a run or an hour yoga class may be the only hour of the day that you’re doing something for yourself. Make it a priority, you’ll feel happier and more energised when you return. Make Fitness Fit – Make fitness a part of your everyday lifestyle, instead of another thing on your to-do lis. For example – Walk, rather than drive the kids to school and if they have scooters, put on your trainers and jog along side them.  That Feeling – One of the best things about HIIT is the feeling that you get afterwards. It really boosts your mood. Winter can make us feel sleepy and lethargic , but HIIT …

It’s been a mega busy month so I thought I’d share what I’ve been up to lately … Running. I took a break from running, after my summer run challenge I needed to give my legs a rest. I’ve been going to reformer pilates, which I LOVE! I’m really missing running though, especially as Autumn is so gorgeous and it’s no too cold yet. I can’t wait to lace up and get back out there asap. I’m also looking for my next RUNbeautiful adventure! Sport Style Shoot. Last week I met up with a photographer, @tomjoyphoto. I have Instagram to thank for this union. I absolutely loved shooting around east London with Tom, we had very similar ideas on style and mood for the shoot. Learning to Swim

So earlier on this year I shared a blog post titled ‘Making A Splash!‘ I talked about how both Jude and I will be starting swimming lessons at David Lloyd Health Club. A few months later, here is an update as to how we’re both getting on. . . Having our David Lloyd club membership throughout the summer school holidays was absolutely brilliant. Rob and I could train together in the gym whilst Jude enjoy the kids club. We signed up for swimming lessons with a wonderful swimming coach who is aptly named David. Jude started off really well, he was excited about the lesson and he seemed really keen to get in the water. However, he quickly became nervous when he realised that his feet couldn’t reach the bottom and that I was’t getting in with him. He clung on to David and gripped his t-shirt with both hands for most of the thirty minute lesson, but at least he came out smiling. The following few lessons Jude seemed to become more and more anxious …
