Birchbox May 2015 ‘Free Your Mind’

Whilst I was out shopping recently, a sales assistant at a beauty counter asked me if I needed any help. I was looking a little dazed and confused at the huge amount of beauty lotions and potions on offer. She then asked me what my current skin care regime was and what products I liked to use. To be honest, my skin care regime is pretty basic & I share the bathroom each morning with a 3 year old and his dinosaurs. I felt a little overwhelmed by the amount of products that this lady claimed to be ‘essentials’. I ended up leaving the shop with the same Clinique bronzer that I have been buying for the last four years.

Later that week I met up with a friend and she introduced me to Birchbox. I’m sure that you have probably heard of Birchbox before but if like me, you’re a little late to the party, then here’s what you need to know. Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service. Your box will include beauty, skin care & hair products to sample from a host of wonderful brands. If you are a beauty novice, then Birchbox is a fantastic way to try out some new products. My favourite discovery so far has to be, Dr Jacksons 03 Face Oil. [from the limited edition Tatler Birchbox] I’ve been using it twice a day for the past two weeks. It is truly amazing and has given my skin a pre-summer glow.

This months Birchbox ‘Free Your Mind’ comes in a customisable box that you can colour-in yourself. Apparently, colouring is quickly becoming a popular trend amongst adults that need a way to relax their mind and release some creativity. Personally, I have been inspired to practice mindfulness since meeting Andy Puddicome at Vogue Festival last month. Who knew colouring could be so cathartic!

Inside this months box I received these products to sample –

RMK Point Make-Up Remover
Parlor
By Jeff Chastain Moisturising Sea Salt Spray

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturiser
Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge
WAH London Press On Nails
Absolute Youth Activator Mask

I am going to spend a few more minutes in the bathroom tonight, testing out my new products. [no boys or dinosaurs allowed!]
